Terra's Kitchen Healthy Meal Kit Service
/Thanks to Terra's Kitchen for sponsoring this post and providing healthy, headache-free meal kits that can be prepped in 30 minutes or less.
I've been enjoying a lot of fun summer travel. There was some family time in Lake Tahoe over the 4th, and some great dining and exploring with a good friend in Chicago shortly after. I don't always eat my healthiest when I travel, so when I come home, I'm anxious to get back on a clean eating schedule. The problem is that there's no food in the house when I return, and I'm always tight on time, having just been away. That's where a good healthy meal kit service comes into play, like Terra's Kitchen.
What I like about Terra’s Kitchen is that there's a lot of clean eating options to choose from. There's gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian and just straight up healthy meals. No only that, but these aren't elaborate, multi-hour cooking experiences. Dinner (or lunch) can be on the table in 30 minutes or less.
Ordering on Terra's website is easy, unless you're really hungry, then you're going to have trouble deciding on what you want to eat since there are many fabulous options like creamy black bean sliders, turkey spinach meatballs, sweet potato tacos and vegan power bowls to name a few. But wait, it gets even better.
The delivery is the most fun part. You get your own climate-controlled vessel, chock full of your ordered ingredients, pre-portioned and pre-chopped. It's like your own little refrigerator. They have these handy roll out trays with everything you need, and all at the right temperature. Once you remove your ingredients, you simply peel off the return label and stick it outside your door for pick-up, after a fond farewell of course. The vessel can be re-used up to 100 times. How's that for efficient.
There are recipe cards with each meal that give step by step instructions on how to pull your dish together. The ingredients for each dish are numbered so you know which ingredients go with which meals. The recipe cards also list suggested beer and wine pairings. Not only that, but the cards include "TK Table Talk" with some conversation starters like, "I wish the world..." Talk about thinking of everything!
Yeah, yeah, so good healthy meal choices, fun delivery mechanism, easy to prep meals, but how does it taste? I tried a handful of dishes and I was super impressed. Crispy salmon with a spicy jalapeno, mint watermelon salsa? I would order that in a restaurant. I loved the warm and cool play with the salmon and salsa.
Then there was grilled lamb with pan roasted asparagus, olives and tomatoes. Again, high quality and much more interesting than a basic steak and potato dish.
Even the happy chicken salad bowl had a fun twist with chicken thighs, quinoa, spinach, mango, blueberries and a zesty scallion mint dressing.
Terra's Kitchen makes for an easy, efficient and healthy meal system!
